Chapter Directors

A Chapter Director is the representative of Newborns in Need in a local community. Each Chapter Director is responsible for all administrative and volunteer activities pertaining to the chapter.

Meet a Chapter Director

Meet Marty Rupp, Director of the Newborns in Need Greater Newark Chapter:

Marty is a nurse in Ohio and has served as a chapter leader since 2014. She first got involved when her daughter was a Girl Scout and their troop crocheted afghans for Newborns in Need. The NIN Greater Newark Chapter leader at the time had to step down for personal reasons, but asked Marty to replace her, which she happily obliged. One thing Marty loves about being part of the organization is that, despite the prevalence of negativity in the news and the world around us, being a part of NIN brings back some positivity. She has friends who enjoy sewing, knitting, and crocheting for Newborns in Need, and she loves the community that can be built through a shared love of crafting and making a difference in people’s lives. Thank you for all of your hard work, Marty!

Interested in Starting a Chapter?

You believe that all newborns deserve basic essentials for a healthy, safe and comfortable start in life
You understand the value of volunteers and are willing to recruit and train to provide meaningful activities
You have the resources and network to find support in your community
You must agree to use organization required communication tools such as e-mail and social media sites including Faceboook and Instagram
You must have adequate storage space for donations
You understand fundraising is required
You have strong communications skills and are willing to spread the story of babies born into poverty in the U.S.A
You understand you must be 21 years of age or older to lead a chapter.
Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
